looking at a passport 2890rl help

We are looking at a passport 2890rl,, dry it comes in around 5500lbs, I'll be pulling it with a 2014 f150 crew max 4x4 with a pay load around 9000 or 9500lbs. I know the passport is a keystone but was wanting to know what people thought of the passport brand or this model itself.
It will be me and my wife and myn3 year old daughter that is very active and doesn't know what sitting still really means.
Let me know what you think of the truck pulling the TT and the passport itself and if you have bought one about what you have paid for it

Just got a 2400BH. I love mine, there are the little issues you will have to work out but as an earlier poster mentioned, make sure you buy from a reputable dealership. Enjoy!

I would get a bunkhouse b/c of your daughter. You'll quickly grow weary of making up/breaking down her bed every day.

You'll should be fine with a 1/2 ton and a 6500 lbs trailer. You wont have tons of payload left for the bed of the truck, but I suspect you wont need it.

Great looking trailer, I have no problems with Keystone on my trailer, but I have never actually owned a Passport model. Only thing with that model is it doesn't give your daughter her own separate bed, perhaps you are going to upgrade in the future when she is older.

Nice rig by the way. Looks to be a decent towing combination, keep in mind that dry weight is meaningless as nobody really tows an empty trailer around. Food, water/beverages, clothing, toys, bikes, and tools among other things add up quickly, lets just add 1000 pounds for a total of 6500. Truck should be fine with this amount of weight.

You stated 9000 to 9500 payload capacity, but I believe you meant towing capacity as even the stoutest 350/3500 HD diesel dually truck can't manage those payload numbers. Payload refers to the amount your truck can be loaded to and includes everything added to the vehicle other than a 150# driver and a tank of gas. This includes the tongue weight of your approximately 6500# TT which is roughly 800-900lbs. This is where many half-tons can fall short, but getting a truck with max payload should get the job done.

No experience with Passport or any Keystone products, RVs are manufactured as fast as they can push them out the door, purchase your TT from a reputable dealer that is known for quality service after the sale and they will remedy whatever issues should arise during the warranty period. There are no perfect trailers and having a good dealer to work with goes a long way to your overall satisfaction with your new rig. Have many wonderful trips in your new Passport!!!
