- memtbExplorer“Git’r Done”! Looks great to me! Very nice trailer. A little bigger than I need....but sitting here a bit envious! :B
- 4x4ordExplorer IIII hit where road construction left a ditch going across the pavement today. Shortly after the dash displayed trailer wiring fault and I noticed I had no trailer brakes. It turned out hitting the ditch caused the leaf springs to flex enough to allow the trailer axle tubes to hit the frame rails. One of the brake wires got smashed between the frame and the axle tube causing a short circuit. Fortunately I was able to fix the wires before needing to stop in a hurry. Probably wouldn't have had the problem if I wasn't hauling 10,000 lbs over the trailer's gvwr. Time for a tridem dually with disc brakes. (If they're available)

how did the truck like pulling that weight with its 3.55 gears?
I don't have any long steep grades to experiment with but it seems to tackle the 7% grades very well in 3rd or fourth gear and just over 50 mph. You certainly feel the weight while starting out especially in soft ground. The 4.10 or 4.30 would "feel" nicer to start the load moving. Once rolling even 10 mph the 3.55 gears work excellent. - 4x4ordExplorer III

I've seen pictures of a Tundra pulling the space shuttle. Almost anything can be done, at least once.
This truck and trailer were united about 2 weeks ago and the union will last another 7 weeks....So, about 2 months a year. - alexleblancExplorerhow did the truck like pulling that weight with its 3.55 gears?
- 4x4ordExplorer IIIThere was a foot of snow on the ground 3 weeks ago but it is summer now. It is supposed to get up to 82 degrees by Tuesday.
- Excellent load... We haul water tanks and fertilizer tanks that will put a grin on your face.
BTW... Still looks like winter up there. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Seems to handle it ok. Just enough weight to bring the overloads into play. Total weight is just a touch under 40k lbs.
**** IT!!! You beat my 35K combined.
Nice load. - fj12ryderExplorer IIII've seen pictures of a Tundra pulling the space shuttle. Almost anything can be done, at least once.
- LwiddisExplorer IIProbably ride better with an additional 10k...IMO. lol
