Low Forum Activity?

It's winter! 50% of the regulars have gone into hibernation !:B

Well I'm still here. Read the forums every night. Was going to purchase a EC 1165 Truck Camper last year but am doing it this year. Got deposit in and getting ready to get off the grid. Tired of all the BS out there. Ordered it with what I want in it. Just still confuse over whether to get a new RAM or a Duramax. Also confused as to where the first trip will be. Think I will go from Texas up to Alaska and from there who knows and who cares.

Since you joined, a lot of the old regulars have moved on to another forum. You are right in thinking it is nowhere nearly as active as it used to be, but still pretty well attended and a lot of good information still being passed along. I think "changing times" might play a role as well because I know at least 7 RVers that I have pointed to these forums and they had no interest at all. To each his on. I'm still hanging on for the ride.

1) Maybe we're all doing our job educating folks about the trials and tribulations of RV ownership!

2) We're all teaching Forum Members so well that they are spreading their wings and fleeing the RV.Net "nest" and doing what an RV lifestyle is all about...getting out there and enjoying themselves!

3) We scared them so badly about RVings unfortunate mishaps that sometimes seem to occur all too often that they all left their RV's sitting on the side of the road somewhere in Death Valley and walked away!

It's funny you mention this because just the other day I was wondering where in the world is SoCalDesertRider? He used to be on this forum every day! I wonder what he's up to?

I think several things have happened:

1) A lot of us have been here for a long time... we've heard a lot of the questions over and over.... (thats normal

2) Another... the economy slowed things down, not as many new people are coming aboard... and we are losing some to illness or even death.

3) There is a topic in most of the forums that robbed the opportunity for members to see what others are doing in individual posts. When you post to "What did you you do to your camper today" and several other members post their "thing of the day"... then someone wants to coment on your post... it makes it hard to follow the single thought... impossible to search. So, I don't look... and therefore don't comment, or get the benifits of individual posts and the responses. In my opinion... the "What did you you do to your camper today" type threads are the worst thing to happen to the Truck camper forum...

4) Some of the guru's left, they just got burnt out with a few people pounding negative info on everything... especially PVSolar, and electronics. (I write directly to them for answers to my problems instead of posting)

5) I think there are less physical contacts too... we don't get to know and visit each other as much as we did a few years ago. mainly... we just don't get to know each other.

6) thank goodness for PM's...

These are my opinions...

Waynes and Brads thoughts will be different... thank goodness we have had them over the last 10 plus years... they keep things level.
