Our first camping trip in the new trailer is history. It went pretty smooth for the most part except for the tear down. We had a nice pull thru site and we set up towards the front to take advantage of a shade tree. It stretched my electric and sewer lines but they reached. It drained slightly up hill so draining the bathroom tanks were a pain but the galley tank went smooth. Now for the christening.... It was raining on Sunday so this added to the fun. While draining the black tank I was walking out the hose trying to get it to drain. Remember this was slightly up hill along with the fact that I had 5 sewer lines hooked up to reach the drain. (New 10' lines so they were really about 7' long) I lifted up one full section too high and it split. I got splashed pretty good and it was nasty. I held the hose up to prevent further spillage and with my wife's help removed the damaged section and reconnected the line. It took a while to drain them.So lessoned learned. We like the spot but next time we'll set up further back and I'll be more aware of how much stress these hoses can take. It took owning three trailers for this to happen. They were Revolution hoses but they weren't faulty, it was all me.Here are a couple of pics. Goof looking rig. I found for myself its better to park closer to hookups especially for the black and grey tanks with just one stinky slinky. Good lesson in don't pick a slinky up when its full of......

Sounds reminiscent of the Robin Williams movie, RV, and his experience with the "Y" coupler!

50 feet of drain hose? What's wrong with this picture. I've never used more than one section...If there is no closer sewer I'd look at one of those systems that breaks up the `stuff' and pumps it thru a smaller hose. Valterra makes one but there are others.

On my trailer my black tank dump is in front of my slide. It takes 2 hoses just to reach my back bumper and that's stretching them. Plus it was a long pull thru with the sewer at the very back of the site and I set up towards the front. Put all that together and you get 5 hoses. I just booked the site again for next month but I'll be setting up towards the back this time. Lesson learned.

It pulled very nicely. Good tow experience. The Hemi has plenty of power. It does bounce a little when I hit a bump but not that bad. I upgraded the rear shocks to KYB Monomax's. They are designed for towing and hauling. I did that knowing the Ram's have a softer suspension. I might put bags in it just because but it really doesn't need them so they are low priority.

How did the Ram 1500 fair withe trailer? I've got a 2012 1500 Crew 4x4 w/Hemi and a 27' Coachman trailer. Haven't taken it out yet, as the trailer had been in midst of practically a complete gut and overhaul.

Also, what part of Jersey? Jackson over here.

I carry 2 hoses that barely reach from the dump valves to the rear bumper.

Running nationwide I can think of many sites where I need over 35 ft of sewer line. Marin or north San francisco rv park is one, drain is far back and center, this year b4 heading back home to Michigan we stayed for a week, close to ferry and great cycling. Out ATC has a forward mounted drain valve as black and grey are way forward of the axles. Beautiful set up as in use they transfer weight from the rear 100 gallons of water, thus incredibly stable when towing. But, I carry over 50ft of hose in various length segments just in case.

I had a hose split once, I think it was just because it was old. Thankfully it was at a camping dump station that had a great design that allowed me to just rinse everything into the dump port. I was kinda grossed out but, I had a friends 14 year old son with me and he just grabbed the rinse hose from the pole and washed it down without any problem or being squeamish.

That kid has a future is fixing broken sewer lines.

Since this was our first trip out I may end up doing that. Next time I won't need 5. I'll be closer and these hoses will be stretched but switching may be an option.

Just a thought. I have 2 sewer connections as well. I believe it's easier to just move the hose between the 2 outlets as needed vs. setting up multiple hoses at each discharge.
Too much effort to get out 5 hoses and put them away vs. just using 2 hoses.
