Mounting tv in TT

I'm just about done setting my trailer up and am looking at a tv to mount. I would think I could mount the tv on a wall mount in the area where the tv is supposed to go. Is there anything I need to consider prior?

Thanks
Brian
  • In our Spree the backer is a metal (steel) plate. I couldn't find it, it was a good 9" from the sticker. A strong magnet located it in about 30 seconds. The backer in our previous TT was plywood, so the magnet would not have helped.
  • I use a mount that allows me swivel, and remove mine then I place it on the dinette seat for going down the road. I don't want it swinging around. I also have a older TT that had no designated TV mounting area.
  • Thanks I got it in there just wondering if you leave yours mounted all the time the frig and microwave stay mounted just debating with my wife a little on that too lol

It's not that complicated. If it's labeled, a simple stud finder will give you the edge of the backer. Actually, just by pressing on the wall you can tell where it's solid and where is not.

Personally, I don't trust the backer, although my Outback had the same label.

I mounted ours (in the bed room), but used a flat mount with the opposing side that mounts to the television. The television side simply hooks over the bar. When traveling or the trailer is moving, we always take the television down. Safe, secure, and no worries this way.
