My sucessful trip down 95 with new TT.

Last week we beat the snows and moved to FL from Maryland. I've had long TTs and short and longer MHs, but my current rig towed the best. I've never gone all the way on 95 before and I was a bit nervous.

My 2013 3/4 Suburban pulled my 23 ft. TT like a breeze. Previously 18 wheelers passing would jerk me around and I would really feel turbulence. I didn't feel a thing with this set-up.

We didn't unwinterize it cause the east coast was in deep freeze.

Until we got to Georgia, where we got the last site in a campground full of weekend campers. After Georgia we drove straight thru to our new house.

Now we are storing the TT near us. I am very spoiled by having the others at home, in a barn, in my back yard. I don't like this storage bit, but have no choice.

We took the battery out and put it on a maintainer.

  • 23 ft Puma. With Equilzer wdh. Actually pulled easier than my 16 ft stock trailer which has no wdh.
  • Sounds like a good move, someday hope to do the same.Look into a metal carport they are very reasonable to keep campers out of the elements.
  • 3/4 ton Burb should pull down a house.....my buddy would say it's overkill, but I would have made the same choice in tow vehicle.....but mine would be a 3/4 ton pick up
  • Congrats. You had plenty of pickup to pull the average 23 ft. TT it should have been a breeze and I'm glad it was.
  • I wish I were with you in Florida. We just moved to Cumberland, MD last Friday and it's 10 degrees. Haven't driven in this stuff in 35 years...yuk.
  • Welcome to Florida. So glad that you had a good trip down 95.lizzie
