My truck camper/RV experiences begin - Frame/Jack failure
After many years of dreams and drooling over new truck campers a growing family has resulted in the purchase of a '89 Western Wilderness Alpine 11' truck camper about two weeks ago. We enjoyed a weekend trip upto the Puget Sound and have great trips planned for the rest of the summer BUT we ran into a hiccup the first time that I unloaded it :(. SEE PHOTO BELOW
It may have been the slightly uneven ground on which I attempted to dismount the camper or the rotten wood encased within the frame combined with the questionable method for mounting the jacks. Anyways, the result was a frame failure on the passenger side leading to a jack mount failure on the drivers side.
This created an excellent opportunity for improvement!
