Need a good supplier for the Mach 8 9200 BTU AC

looks like I am going to purchase a 1999 Palomino Wrangler. this is a one owner unit. all it needs is AC!

I currently have a coleman 2500 watt generator, and would eventually like to upgrade to a Honda or Yamaha 2000 watt inverter.

From reading other threads, the 9200 BTU should be sufficient for a 10ft truck camper. Most of the time we will be on shore power, but one place we ride our ATV's will require generators or no AC.

let me know if you have a good source to purchase a low pro 9200 BTU AC. The only one I have seen is the Mach 8, but open to others also if they would work.

thanks again!
  • Dang! I just bought that #49201A876 in February. Guess that's why it was a good deal.

It's about half-way down the technical information P/N selection list, here is a screen shot:

My understanding as of last Fall when I got my unit is the Colman Polar Cub - 49000 series is no longer manufactured. Current manufacturing is the 47000 Colman Mach 8 series which includes the Mach 8 Cub(s) 9200 BTU: 47201-876 and 47201A876. Most of the Mach 8 series units are low profile. Customer service is great just send them an email with your questions. My unit was actually delivered/installed before the technical information was up on their website. Contacted the support team via the RVcomfort website and finally got the right information for my unit, however basic it is.

That being said you may get still be able to find an older model Polar Cub in the 49000 series still on the shelf....somewhere.

I highly recommend contacting RVcomfort.com customer service for any questions on available models and comprehensiveness of their technical data.
  • the one with the part number starting with 49... has been discontinued. The new one is 47201A876. I just had this one installed, it's definately low profile but I don't know yet if my generator will run it.
