My wife and I bought an Arctic Fox 865 a couple of weeks ago. It is every bit as nice as I thought it would be. It is also every bit as heavy, that is the only real down side.
We took it out for a three day adventure and had a blast, it was comfortable and everything worked like a champ. I had one issue with a broken plastic bit on the EZ-opener contraption on the door and they sent the parts out right away.
I do not have anything good to say about RV salesmen from any store in a three hour radius of our home. We endured all manner of liars and cheats during the buying process. The dealer we settled on had two things going for it, they had a camper in stock and they were willing to deal. I knew we had them cutting to the bone on price when they insisted on cheating us out of the second battery and over-selling the over-priced **** from the company store. Declining the all but worthless "camper insurance" sent the loan-hoochie into a fit. I have a feeling the $4000.00 they wanted for insurance will fix a lot of broken stuff over the life of the camper.
Arctic Fox builds a great camper, it is a tad on the heavy side. I added Ride-Rite airbags, Rancho 9000XL's and upgraded to better tires as part of the truck camper plan. I own an F-250 and when I ordered it with a TC in mind. I got the FX-4, camper package and every heavy duty upgrade to the suspension, underneath it is an F-350 in pretty much all respects.
I vote 865 and I did quite a bit of looking before we bought this one. We were serious about an Adventurer 86FB, but the salesman was such a lying crook and the dealer a slimeball we had to say NO. They did offer to discount the camper 5% if we bought a/c for $2500 and a gen set for $5500.
I emailed Adventurer to ask some questions and the company guys were prompt and friendly. The dealer was the deal breaker. Thus we own an Arctic Fox.
