Need lid for propane tanks

Last trip my black plastic lid, on my 2 propane plastic unit that enclosures my propane
tanks blew off

Tips on where to purchase if there is a supplier.
Need to put that on check list b4 pull out!

After the first couple of covers on different trailers kept blowing off, quit using them. They are a hassle anyway when checking levels and removing tanks to get them filled.

Plus, if it flies off and hits someone and causes an accident I'd be liable.

Also, being very aerodynamically sensitive, the cover presents a wide flat surface to block air flow while the air can curve easily around the two round tanks.

I guess I've never lost a tank cover lid as I rarely have any need to open it. I added a clear view window so I can see what the regulator is telling me ...



... so about the only time I need access is to remove a tank to refill, in which case I'd remove the entire tank cover. Mine's fairly snug but I still secure it in place with a couple of mini bungie cords.

you can buy those weird screw type latches too.. Somehow I end up with mine not secured and lose them.

I do put my cover so hinge is on front and latch on back. it helps keep the lid on when I forget to latch it closed.

When fitting the cover over the cylinders the cylinders can be slid closer together or farther appart before tightening down. If too close together the cover is too loose and a gust of upward air can lift it of the cylinders. If the cover goes on to easily the cylinders need to be adjusted far enough appart so the cover has to be pushed down in order to fit over the cylinders. It should then stay on by itself. If the cylinders are too close and you only rely on a bungee cord to hold it down the cover can move around as the air beats against it.

I took the bottle cover off and tossed it. The cover is a pain to deal with and it is only cosmetic.

Code requires the bottles turned so the valves are protected from impact by the collar and the regulator can have its own cover.

Mine is really loose, which is why I bungy them to the frame.

most tank holders allow a side movement of 1/2 inch... so cover is easy or hard to remove..

If you push the bottles towards each other, some can be quite loose. Rarely do you see anyone use the tabs below to secure with a bungee cord.

I bungy cord the whole propane cover to the frame.

I used some zip ties thru the slots where it attaches because I thought it was a bit iffy on whether it would stay attached
