I puchased a new Shadow Cruiser 280qbs, it has 205/75/14 load C tires.I have maybe 1000 miles on them and I always check the tire preasure before trips. My unit (unloaded) is around 5,200lbs and (loaded) around 6,600lbs. I know you have to run tires at max psi(50) to get full use of 6 ply on tires. It has double axles and each axle is measured at 4,555lbs.I need to take her in and see if the axles are out of allignment or bent. Is this under warrentee if I am still with-in a year of purchase? What tires would you recommend?UPDATE: This is after I did the rotation of the two rear axle tires. Remember I have maybe 700 to 800 miles on these tires. TT was brand new. Recommended tires - MAXXIS!You may have to go to a ST215/75/14 D rating (1870 lbs @ 50 psi). Don't forget to get stainless steel valve stems installed.As far as axle issues being under warranty, only the manufacturer and/or dealer can answer you question. They may "claim" that hitting a curb, pot hole, etc, caused the problem. Have patience but persistent in getting some assistance from them. If all else fails, maybe you can get them to split the cost of repairs.

Recommended tires - MAXXIS!

You may have to go to a ST215/75/14 D rating (1870 lbs @ 50 psi). Don't forget to get stainless steel valve stems installed.

As far as axle issues being under warranty, only the manufacturer and/or dealer can answer you question. They may "claim" that hitting a curb, pot hole, etc, caused the problem. Have patience but persistent in getting some assistance from them.

You don't say anything about what your tires look/perform like- how do you know you need new ones?

4555 is the dry axle weight which is a meaningless number once the trailer is loaded up for a trip.

Your tires should not be worn out already. Before putting new tires on, and then just ruining them in short order, fix what the problem is first. So yes, you are right to be taking it back and having alignment, etc checked.

If you are going to change to different size ( larger ) tire, check very carefully first to see if you have clearance above the tire. For instance, on my funfinder ( made by the same company as your trailer ) I have NO extra room above the tires for anything larger in diameter. If I were to install a larger tire, it would hit the fenderwell ( floor of trailer ) when the suspension goes to full bump. If you are not sure, then ask the tech folks at the factory. I did just that and they confirmed what I suspected.

Your trailer probably has 3500 pound Lippert axles under it, if I were a guessing man.

EDIT: also, if you were to want to go to a 215 tire, it is actually supposed to be mounted on a 6" wide rim. You most likely have 5.5" rims. Again, if I were betting, you have Sendel T03 rims. Man....they have sold a LOT of those in last several years !
