I just throw mine in the back of my pickup too.
In fact, I have a 2004 Chevy pickup. The first time I needed the spare for the pickup I found it was next to impossible to remove it from under the truck. So, that tire is in the bed of the pickup too.
They do make a after market kit for the pickup tire that I may put that under there someday because the pickup spare uses up a lot of room. The camper spare, not so much.
