Network Interface

Hello, I just purchased a used Jayco TT. Outside is a small box from Joslyn Electronic Systems Co which reads "Network Interface."
Can you tell me what this is? Joslyn seems to be out of business.
Thank you,

Strange.

This may seem a bit odd, but my vote is surge suppressor. But that's based on working in IT. I have not heard of a surge suppressor in a TT that has a network interface...usually those are present to go to a emergency power shutoff device/switch.

like this

Otherwise I'd concur with the rest, although I've not seen a telephone line labeled "network interface". The two TT's I've had with telephone connections were labeled just that.

A box labeled "Network Interface" is usually for telephone landline connections. This might be for a single line, two lines, or multiple lines. The Network Interface on the exterior of a structure was introduced to define the point where the Telco's responsibility for wiring ends.

When "telephone ready" was a feature or option on many RVs the feature meant having a network interface installed, for the phone company's connection. This is not a common feature now that many have abandoned landline connections, and you will find fewer and fewer parks offering the service.

Looks to me like you got a TT that was used as an office. Possibly on construction sites, or similar.
The network interface you are seeing is for telephone networks. In other words a multi-line junction box for multiple telephones.

Depending on the types of connections inside and the electronics it could either be a regular telephone interface box or it's a fiber optic network interface for cable and telephone/internet.

If your trailer has this it probably was used as a residence for an extended period of time.

There are 5650 hits on Google when searching "Joslyn Electronic Systems network interface". I suspect you will find the answer there with some concerted effort.
