new baby on the way need some help.

well i have a questin. i been camping in my pup for about the last 4 years with the better half. the questin i have is we are having a baby very soon and not sure if camping in the Pup is ok with the new baby. i have been think of going to a TT but love my pup. if you guys have anying advise on this please let me know. thank you

what you have is fine, but depending on where you camp, I would think that being able to regulate the temp inside the camper is more important that the camper itself.

I've tent camped with our 2 year old, and now we've got a pop-up.

What happens to most POPUP campers is when the kids get bigger they will want to sleep outside anyway. Just bring along some tents for them to use. My kids would rather sleep on the picnic table haha...

I also got a lot of miles out a gazebo type tent setup around the picnic table. Kids loved sleeping there too...

In some parts of the world, as soon as the little tyke pops out, mom straps him to her back and is back out working in the fields the same day.

Obviously, use common sense but as long as they are healthy and you aren't subjecting them to extremes, they should be just fine.

Ours started at 5 months and went camping ever other weekend, and vacations, until he was 15 years old.

I would wait until they at least are released from the hospital. No worries, take them camping if you like. The sooner the better.

The biggest question is; Are you up to it? The wee one will require a lot of gear and a lot of extra work. I take it this is your first?

Camping in a pup?

You are one step above us.

We camped with our newborn in a tent. He is now 31, I don't think it hurt him.

Just get a portacrib and put it on the floor or other bunk end. Camping with kids is wonderful but you will be busier. I would put my kids in their car seats when it was time to take the pup down, leave the door open (so I could hear them if they cried), turn the air conditioning on and take it down, hook up and leave. I kept the foods simple when they were little (prebrowned ground beef for chili),grilled chicken or hots on the grill, premade salads, etc. We would sit around the campfire (make sure it isn't asmoky one) with the kids in our arms, they would fall asleep and we would put them to bed. The camping life with kids is a bit more complicated but you will enjoy it. As they got older, we packed travel games, sand toys, books, etc for the rainy days. Usually would go to places that were geared for kids with nice playgrounds and a pool. Now we enjoy the quieter ones as the girls are now 25. Congratulations and enjoy parenthood.

Congratulations on the upcoming arrival.
Our kids were only a few months old when they were introduced to camping, in a tent with no hydro. We then had both a TC and a PUP
If you love what you have then make it work. What is the layout?
When they are small, not crawling about it is easy to make a sleeping area. Our grandkids slept in a bassinet placed on one of the beds. As they got older they moved to a small playpen that fit nicely at one end. They then moved to a bed with side rails.

What exactly are your concerns and we can help address them better?

The pup is much better than a tent. As funds allow, then move up to the travel trailer. It might take some time, as I heard from a friend that kids can be expensive!

Normally it also means a larger tow vehicle too, and that can get expensive!
