Kayteg...pls show us some pics of what you did, not following (I think)...why would you want to remove marker lights...if cab over is that close...don't yu have other issues with the cab roof? Why didn't you just install a bed riser system and gain some insulation.

When you say you raised the front of the TC...do you actually mean you place a spacer across the front to raise it up? THUS leaving a gap between the bed floor and the bottom of the TC? IF so you could be causing serious issues...that's why I am not following your solution! Does anyone else understand? It's morning and may not be thinking clearly just yet! HEHE!!

Dimension wise you should be good as it is the newer trucks Fords and GMCs/Chevy which have narrow tailgate openings, higher bed rails, and taller cabs. The only concern would be weight since the older trucks were rated a lot less than the newer ones, but then again they were lighter too so the numbers don't mean that much.

Not in your question, but the thing that put me in a new truck was the safety features have vastly improved over the older trucks. Otherwise I would have gone with a 92ish F350 crew cab as I like the simplicity not computer oriented controls of the older trucks.

I have 2004 camper and 2007 Ford truck and had to take roof markers glasses for clearance of cabover.
That alone was not enough, so I put 3/4" plywood under front of the camper to get 1/8" clearance between the camper and lights base.
The light bases sit in the holes, so can't remove them completely without worrying about patching the holes.
Bottom line - you never know for sure till you try.

Cab Height would an issue only if it was an older camper, newer truck, an older truck as long as it doesn't excessively exceed its ratings should be able to fit just about any newer camper.

Cab height? Might need to to stack plywood for clearance, or not. New trucks have the rear boattail effect for gas mileage.

for one it might really be over the door stickers GVWR (10,000 I believe)if you mind that sort of thing and two you might have issues with the width of the tail gate opening but I seem to remember it was easy to slide sheets of plywood or drywall into the bed

I don't see why you would. The older pickup beds were wider than the newer ones...
