New radio recommendation

The Jensen AWM series are full-featured including USB and Ipod inputs. Many modern RVs come with them.

If you have an automotive single-DIN size, any stereo store, Ctutchfield, or Amazon can help you out.

Yes that's what's in there now, awm968 it's a joke of a radio. Only way to get the tv to play through the radio is with a digital to analog converter. Dvd only has composite out.

The Jensen radio does not have a good reputation, but they keep installing them. :M

Yes, they only have a composite cable output (not component). The TV in our KZ has an HDMI input, but nooo, it hasta to run on a composite cable. :M

When I've got the time, I am going to look into replacing it with something decent, but the opening size is specific to Jensen from what I understand. If you do a forum search, there should be numerous threads on this, but I don't think there's a simple re&re around.

Speakers that they install in the ceiling aren't exactly state of the art either, but are easy to upgrade with something nice. Installing a surround sound setup would be interesting to do if you can find a spot for the sub-woofer and receiver.

I just love reading about the radio on Jensen page, it state of the art. Yeah maybe in the 90's

It's kinda sad, back in the late 70's, If you had Jensen 6x9 speakers to hook up to the 8track player in your car you be the man.....now they're sorta a joke....

I had Spark-O-Matic stuff myself. It was cheaper and all I could afford.

To the OP, if you can do cabinetry work I would think any high end car stereo might work for you.

I don't know they don't have radio stations around here anymore so I just have learned to shut the whole thing off.

The Jensen AWM975 has an HDMI output.
My Jensen is similar to the AWM 965. I use a digital to analog converter to push the TV sound to the stereo and it works pretty well. I also use a Bluetooth adapter to play tunes from my iTouch from the campfire thru it. The Bluetooth is my favorite feature.

Agreed, our new trailer has an awful stereo. I can deal with the composite connection to the TV (I'll just get an awful TV that matches) but the sound hurts your ears.

I was thinking something like this Metra Universal Double-Din Mount and using a regular car double-din.
