It held up well for being rear ended by a big rig at highway speed. Driver walked away without injury.

It sounds good that the passenger compartment appears to be intact, but I question the part about the driver walking away without injury. From my own recent personal experience, internal injuries can occur that might not present themselves immediately. Hopefully the driver still went to the hospital for a complete MRI.
There was a recent wreck here where a dump truck at highway speed rear ended a Nissan Altima that was stopped, killing two occupants in the Altima. There are certainly safety advantages to driving a large HD pickup.
