- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIJust because he walked away does not mean he is OK.
I was sitting still on I-5 in 2005 in stalled traffic in my 98 RAM. A lady driving a new Honda Pilot rear ended me at 30mph. Her air bag did not go off and she broke her sternum. The Honda was totaled. My truck only suffered hitch and rear bumper damaged and the bottom of the C channel frame at the back where the hitch was attached bent down a bit. No body damage. I absorbed the impact! My neck is still F-DUP!
Larry so much for the weak frame on the 2nd gen RAM's. - CampinfanExplorer IIII think he will need a slider hitch now! Glad all are OK.

I bet the tailgate will, can't say that if it were a Ford though.....LOL!!! JK - transamz9ExplorerMan, he is going to have to do some hitch adjusting to get the fifth wheel hitch to clear the tailgate now.........
- southernskyExplorerMakes me like my rig even more.
- bguyExplorerWonder if the doors open?
- Fast_MoparExplorerIt sounds good that the passenger compartment appears to be intact, but I question the part about the driver walking away without injury. From my own recent personal experience, internal injuries can occur that might not present themselves immediately. Hopefully the driver still went to the hospital for a complete MRI.
There was a recent wreck here where a dump truck at highway speed rear ended a Nissan Altima that was stopped, killing two occupants in the Altima. There are certainly safety advantages to driving a large HD pickup.
That's quite a sobering group of photos.
