The specs say that the Cummins has 20 less horses and 160 ft/lbs less torque when paired with the manual tranny. The story is that the clutch can't take the torque, but I find that hard to believe.
bet it will give you a good feeling, coming off a big hill, slap the big guy in gear, then hit that exhaust brake and smooth, controlled, coming down the hill.
That sure would be a great feeling.
