New Rockwood Roo 23SS ... slide won't open

I mounted mine in a water proof plastic electrical junction box under the TT near the original fuse holder.

Where did you guys mount this auto reset circuit breaker?

A self resetting breaker will work but is the solution for what appears to be an extremely rare problem. We're into our 9th season with our '06 Roo 23SS and have never blown the slide fuse. Only blown fuse was for the range hood/light and that just once.

I give our slide some help opening and closing. The latest trailers have the slide switch on the giant switch panel I assume? Our switch is located above the dinette and I can push the slide out at the same time to help the motor. Once out I push out around the perimeter of the slide to be sure the seals all make contact and hit the switch again. Sometimes moves a fraction of an inch after that. The slide seems to run a little off-square sometimes so I help it come in too.

If the fuse blows or the breaker won't reset there's a hand crank that will move the slide in either direction -- don't lose it.

I don't know yet. Now that we've had the trailer home I've opened and closed the slide a few times and all seems well. In any case, I have a few extra fuses in the drawer now.

This is how I fixed mine. Plastic junction box from the depot and a auto reset breaker. I didn't want to ever have to lay under there in what Murphy would have me in the worst possible conditions.

I had a problem with the slide on my Roo almost as soon as I got it home. Turned out it was a wire that came loose from the wall switch. There were several wires being held together by a big wire nut. I ended up soldering all the wires that were being held by wire nuts and never had another problem with the switch.

Putting the slide in and out just takes a little finesse. If you hold the switch down after the slide is either all the way in or all the way out, that COULD be the culprit. You'll get a feel for it after a few times, but listen for a slight click when using it and then let up off the switch. I would give it several trials at home before heading out to be sure there is not something else going on, but I'd bet it's just holding the switch down too long. You'll also learn to watch for the edge of the cabinet to be lined up along the bathroom wall or the sofa to be just at a certain spot along the cabinet by the front bunkend. We never had a fuse blow on our '07.

BINGO!!! Found it, it's blown. Now it looks great!!!
