New tires for my F-150!

Finally pulled the trigger and purchased new tires for my truck today. The Goodyear Wranglers served me well for the 1 1/2 years I had them and 75,000 miles of use. I wanted a better towing tire for the 20" rims of my FX4, but didn't want to go to an LT tire and decrease my MPG and ride comfort as I drive many miles a year not towing. I decided on the Hankook Dynapro ATM 275/55R20XL (stock size) tires. They are a extra load tire that are rated for a few hundred extra pounds of capacity over the standard P tire, plus they can be aired up to 50 psi instead of the standard 44 psi. I hope to see a towing improvement this spring. Only time will tell. The tires were highly rated in Consumer Reports also. The only place that had them available locally was Walmart, they even have them on special right now.

  • I like those tires! And the price is awesome! Been wondering what I'm going to do when I need new tires for my F150. Same size as yours. I've only got 13,000 miles on the OEM Bridgestone Duelers, but I really want an A/T tire.. ;)

I've been a Les Schwab customer for decades, but I might have to check those out from Wally. Thanks!

  • I got the same exact tires, except in 245/70R16XL. Big improvement over stock GYs on my Liberty, but they aren't LTs. I also up sized when I did it, so hat could also be part of the better feel (225/75 to 245/70)
