New truck...RAM

Traded my 2012 6.7 F250 for a 2014 Ram 6.7 3500 SRW yesterday. Wanted the additional payload and the much nicer ride and nicer interior is a bonus. My F250 had power to spare, but I was pushing the limits on my pin weight. I hope the new Ram pulls the camper as well! Are you Ram guys pleased? Been many moons since I've driven a Dodge.

Bad news from the hitch installer this morning. The hitch is 4" closer to the cab than it was on the Ford. Looks like I need a slider.

To me a truck is a truck. If you the owner is happy with the purchase and it can do all you want to do, then that is all that matters. Congratulations on the new ride, I hope it gives you many years of great service.

Nice looking truck, certainly a good idea to get a 1-ton with that fiver you're towing.

I love my ram heavy duty. I have about 4000 miles trouble-free on mine now. Keep in mind the Cummins engine is a straight six and makes all its power downl lower than a v8 because the stroke is longer. The Chevrolet and Ford have to rev higher to make power and that is why they feel faster. There was a YouTube video put out by the fastest truck or something like that and they said the same thing you said. They said the Ford and Chevy felt faster but once they towed up Eisenhower Pass the Dodge beat both of them by over a minute or two. When you put a Cummins underload it is truly a workhorse. You will see! We are on an RV site. Most of us buy trucks to tow anyway. In my opinion you cannot beat a Cummins motor for towing. Nice truck and I hope you enjoy.

Not sure! I didn't know this black out package existed until I saw this truck. Sure caught my eye though!

Stro, your the guy I really want to hear from. I am torn between another Superduty or the new Ram. this is my last truck as I am retiring in four years, so my DW says no more changes. I have owned a F250 V10 (most reliable truck ever); a Chevy Durmax, F350 6.0L (worst truck ever). I bought my DW a 2012 Grand Cherokee and love the interior.

I think Ram is the best truck overall but I am just concerned about the real daily pickup and go from a stop, drivability around town and if under load it has the same Ommphf as the new Ford diesel. Please help an old man out and give me updates around town, highway and towing vs how the Ford diesel preformed. Feel free to pm me if you like. Thanks a ton

I'll try to remember to do that once it get it broken in and pull the 5er this spring. I can tell you already that my Ford 6.7 FELT more powerful, it really put you back in the seat when you stepped on it hard. But mine had 3.73 gearing, whereas the Ram has 3.42. I thought, during the test drive(s) that the Ram was much more refined and smoother feeling. One thing I'm very curious about is fuel mileage. I was averaging about 16 mpg in the Ford just daily use, about 10 pulling. I'm hoping the Ram does that well!

I'm 2000 miles into a 2500 gasser so it's a bit apples to oranges but the truck as a whole is amazing. The Uconnect system is great and the #1 thing I'm constantly amazed with is how quiet the interior of the cab is compared to my old truck (which I thought was pretty quiet).

I spend a lot of hours on the road in my truck and I can't believe how much I appreciate the less noise at by the end of a long day.

Enjoy the new ride!!

Happy with mine so far. Only thing I hate is that the only way to change the oil filter is by removing the intake. At least it's a once in 6 months ordeal. Trust me, you will not fit the filter out from the wheel well with an automatic transmission. Maybe when my warranty runs out I'll consider an oil filter relocation kit.

Sweet looking truck. Limited correct? Truck in my sig is first Ram, first HD and most importantly first diesel I have owned. Not a single issue in 6,000 miles thus far and totally impressed. Hitched up for first time on Saturday with 5,000# TT and all I could do was grin! Gives new meaning to "you don't even know it's back there."

This one did not have the hitch prep package. Mine is being mounted up tomorrow. I told the installer that, without sacrificing safety, inches matter and to mount it as rearward as possible in the box.
