Noisy AC?

They all seem to be loud to me. I am lucky. I have 2, one in the bedroom and one in the livingroom. To lessen the noise I run the a/c in the opposite end of the RV where I am sitting.

Also, one thing to remember is that the air handler is right in the living space, unlike your house...mine is in the laundry room, it is loud in there, but a ways away from everyone, so it is quite.

True story...I have a non-ducted A/C in the front bedroom...however, we use it as a fan for white noise at night when we sleep. I am in the Navy and fly...I went in for my flight physical last month and my hearing was quite a bit worse (from last year) in my right ear (I sleep on my left side)...long story short, a week of sleeping with ear plugs and I passed my hearing, YES, these suckers are loud.

Pull the top covers and check the nuts holding the condenser fan. When I serviced our A/C last month the nuts on all three bolts on both A/Cs were loose. Tightened them up and stopped most of the vibration and noise we were getting.

be sure to keep the filter on the unit clean and it will help lessen the load and the noise.

I'm trying to decide if I should ask what brand and model these A/C units are, or if I should recommend an ear wax removal kit. :D LOL

Most I have seen are pretty noisy. :)

If it is Dometic,check with them. I believe that they have a kit that they will send you to replace certain parts that will lessen the noise.
