Norcold refrigerator setting?

We have a Norcold 3-way refrigerator and in this hot humid weather we have to set it up to number 8 to keep things nice and cold.

Is that a normal setting for hot/humid weather, or could there be a cooling issue developing?

Thank you

Here is a $3.00 idea that works great and does not need fans

In the cool of the overnight hours freeze a few water bottles.
In the heat of the afternoon move them to the fridge.
    Repeat as needed.

Yes, it cools down better at night. I think I'm going to add an exhaust fan in the rear exterior to cool the coils.

If you haven't done so, you can also purchase a 12v. fan in the fridge compartment in front of the cooling fins. This will aid in air circulation in the fridge compartment and limit frost buildup on the fins especially in hot, humid weather. You can buy one on E-bay for between $13-15. Essentially the unit is composed of two computer cooling fans set in a frame and wired together, with a single power lead that can be attached to the fridge light or the wire can be routed down the condensation drain tube and attached to an "always hot" 12v. terminal on the back of the fridge. The fan assembly is attached to the cooling fins and the attachment clips also serve as the electrical ground for the fan.

With ambient temps in the 90's and if the trailer isn't in the shade, sounds entirely normal. Do the temps in the fridge seem to improve as the sun angle lowers or at night?

  • best thing is put a exhaust fan on the out side get that heat up the stack, and shade the refrig side if you can.
