Not bad for 11 years and 240,000 miles.

Still running the factory brakes.
New fuel pump at 180,000.
Miscellaneous items and regular maintenance.

Doesn't use a drop of oil between oil changes
and that's carrying the 4000 lb camper fulltime.

It sure has been and still is a great truck.

The truck in this picture does not seem capable of carrying a camper of this size, especially 240,000 miles?

Is that truck rated to carry that camper weight?? Looks like a short bed truck without dully wheels and I doubt it can handle that!!

If you're talking about the OP's truck, it's a long bed 2500HD with a 6.0 gas engine. I had a similar truck, an older generation with a lower GVWR compared with the OP's. Despite this, it's payload rating was nearly 4000 lbs. With 240K on the clock I would say the truck has "handled it" just fine!

If youโ€™re referring to the green truck, simmer down. Thereโ€™s a statue of limitations on how old of iron that self appointed unobservant weight cops can complain about and that oneโ€™s past the time limit to be eligible for anyone to complain aboutโ€ฆlol

The old camper hauler pics are cool!
Maybe we can pickup (no pun intended, lol) where the broken Ram TC hauler left off since it got padlocked? Seems this old iron can handle a load!

Our 2004 duramax went to our son with 115K miles on it. It's now up to 260K miles, still on the original brake pads, still only uses 1qt of oil between changes, 7500 miles or so, a few maintenance repairs, but that's about it. Vehicles have gone a long way since the 60's when one was lucky to hit 100K before it was off to the junkyard.

I have a 1976 Ford and thank Heaven they don't build them like they used to.

Although I do love the truck. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought a 76 Ford Elite and ordered a 76 F250, dual tanks automatic and 390 engine. The Elite would jump in reverse from park and F250 kept blowing modulator valves . Swore Iโ€™d never buy another ford until, I ran through 70,s, 80โ€™s, 90โ€™s in dodges and Chevrolets. Had 4 super dutyโ€™s since 2002.

Tom & Ray, the Tappet brothers, once got a call from someone who was annoyed at getting only about 8,000 miles out of the brakes on their relatively new car. After some questioning from the boys, it was discovered that the guy drove while resting his left foot on the brake pedal. It took the lads a few minutes to convince the guy that both his brake and gas mileage would improve a lot by placing his foot on the floor.

I have a 2016 CC Silverado 4x4 LT All Star Edition Z-71 with the 6.0 and 4:10 gears with 53,554 miles on it. Itโ€™s a beautiful rock solid truck. Nothing about it is fuel efficient for sure. But itโ€™s smooth, quiet, comfortable and dependable. I bet over the last year Iโ€™ve had 1/2 dozen at least total strangers walk up to me in town asking if it was for sale. Obviously, it not! Love that truck!

Your truck looks great!

At the current rate I rack up miles on my 2009 3500HD, it will take at least 15 more years before I hit 240k.

I bought the truck new and it just hit 76k this year.

I just sold my 2002 6.0, it had 268,004 miles on it. I got 225k out of the original brake pads. Great truck.

Iโ€™m want info to go to about a 12k lb 5th wheel, so I bought a new truck, and switched to a Ford with the 7.3 Godzilla in it, and it is a huge power improvement. Hopefully since Ford copied the LS, it will last a long time.

We have an 09 6.0 GMC with 86000 miles on it. Still on the original brake pads. I polished the headlights this year. The drivers seat has a small tear in it. The dash has a couple of cracks.

The only mechanical problem so far has bee the transmission cooler lines had to be replaced because they were leaking. I'm thinking the shocks need to be replaced.

It has the common problem with the paint on the top of the cab drying out and cracking, starting to show a little rust in the cracks. Planning on getting it fixed this winter.

I never cared for these old Ford highboys.
They ride like a rock and have the worst power assist steering in the world
and the 4-wd looks like an aftermarket addon.
A very crude vehicle, but I like it. LOL
