Rolling View Loop B spot 018 to be exact, lol. I've never been there, but DH has used the nearby boat ramp. We plan on taking our 21' Carolina Skiff and having crappie for Thanksgiving dinner instead of turkey!

I saw the extended forecast for the Raleigh area next weekend. We're going to Falls Lake camping that weekend, and they are calling for lows in the mid-30s. Forecasts a week out aren't very accurate, but if that forecast holds, we're in for a chilly campout.

@MontanaCamper - we get northerners moving down here consistently. It never fails every winter that I see folks walking around in shorts when it is well below freezing. I always just chuckle...not me!

We were at the Cherokee NC KOA campground building the cabins up front a couple of years ago...was about this time. We left about middle of November and headed right into a snow storm in Montana...but the NC campground was full every night and packed on the weekends still...it was chilly at night, but very enjoyable..I talked to a couple of the RVers, was there for almost 5 weeks, and they were going to well into the thanksgiving camping, might of talked to some of you?!?!?! Halloween was a trip, kids went from trailer to RV to Cabin getting candy....Will do that again one year with the wife this time...


Thought it was funny, some of the locals didn't get that we could walk around in shorts in 40 degree weather...I showed them that home was right around 20...so we were use to it...

Here in Texas, while coming back into Austin, I saw a rental "C" lose the sewage hose from the bumper right onto the road.

Camping season in these parts is now officially open.

It sounds like there are a few of you that like to push the season as far as they can. I'm with you! Coming from a popup about 3 years ago, I'm looking forward to more flexibility in this area.

Not ready to give it up yet here either. We will be going out Thanksgiving weekend again this year. I tend to blow out the water lines a few times each year just to extend the season.

We just went out last weekend..30 at night, 45 during the day. Heater was set at 60 at night and during the day, it was pretty nippy..but was very enjoyable. Trailer did well, no problems with slide, awning, or propane.

we are probably done for this season as well.........

I went out over Thanksgivng last year and went the week before Christmas . Had a great time.
