OEM GM tow hitches

For those of you that have towed with the latest model (GM vehicles) that have the OEM hitch. Has GM fixed the problem with the failure of their hitches when Torsion bars (equalizer hitch) have been used? They used to fail when put in the strain with the equalizer system was used. "YES" I know that I can buy and install an after market hitch but if problem has been solved they why go to the expense.

    Well, no problems with my hitch. Had the truck since March 2014 and towed the camper here and there. All is well.

    No! it`s a completely redesigned hitch. much stouter than the prior foil rated hitches.

    Do you mean the pickup/van receiver or the 1/2 ton SUV receiver?

    Both have been redesigned.

    The problem hitches had the round bar design from 00-07. From what I understand the new ones are better designed and much sturdier.
