Older Bigfoot Taillight question

Our new Bigfoot is a 2003 25C9.6. We have the two piece square tail lights with the outer being the running light/brake/turn. The inner has a red outer and clear square center for backup. On braking only the outer light comes on, thI would think e inner only seems to light up on backup and the red outer ring never comes on. that both should light up. Question is how should they work? Could someone with a Bigfoot of about this vintage and taillight arrangement go see how theirs operates for me.

Thanks

2 of them arrived in yesterday's mail - it's this one:

They are bright enough top work well after dark - brighter than the 1156 bulb they replaced, and they work well in the daylight to serve as backup indicators.

I looked at those a few times for my Arctic Fox, but I couldn't justify the expense since I always tow a trailer. Brighter backup lights on the trailer would serve my needs better.

But, the Bargman backup lights are really nice.

The tail light modules are much better than the 1157 bulb and lens they replace. I ran the LED modules on my Desert Fox, then kept the LEDs when I sold the DF and moved them to my AF811.

I recently changed our taillights to led using the conversion- on the backups though I was also thinking of just changing the bulb out, though I was thinking more a flat panel. Haven't found one rated very high on the lumen's though, yet- haven't been looking that hard.

Trail explorer-Are the regular replacement-coolwhites from LedTrailerlights you used adequate as back-up light, but more importantly, (as we have aux b/u lights-but there low), are they, during the day bright enough to serve as indicators? Thats why I was thinking panel-just more light directly out lens?

Thanks

Bargman sells LED conversions for those fixtures. Replaces the plastic lens/reflector and lamp socket with a
sealed LED assembly. My 2008 Bigfoot came with and LED assembly in the stop/running/turn and an incandescent in the backup. I just replaced the backup with their LED conversion, from Amazon.

Thanks for all the answers, they are Bargmen lights. The inner is only a backup so I guess they are fine. We're shipping out to South America in November so the learning curve on this one needs to be steep.

I put some of these in the backup lamp portion of my Bargman tail lights: Cool white LEDs

I think it was 2005 or 2006 when I installed the LED tail lights and replaced all of my clearance lights. I have not had one failure yet.

A little after the exterior LED install, I changed out my interior lights. I prefer the boards. Never had a failure with the regulated LEDs (9-30v-abt $10 each). I had 10 non-regulated (experimenting) that cost $1 each. I lost 4 of them with less than 20 hours of continuous use. I haven't used the others yet. This is one of those times I agree that you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the info on the LEDs. I'll look a little more into it.

Led running lights have come a long ways.

Normally your trucks Alternator is going to put out max 14vdc..

Our converters run between 14.4 and 14.8 depending on the make... That does stress some of the cheaper interior leds..

I always recommend regulated leds for the interior and a good non for the exterior.

Lot's of evaluations of led's over in TECH if in doubt.

Ive been using LED rear lights for 4 years and never had a problem. I'm also on my 4th year for all LED interior bulbs and never had one go out. I think a lot depends on what quality you get.

Our Bigfoot is a 2000 25c9.6 like yours... Lights work exactly the same as yours...

The backup light glows red along with the white/clear lens. The combo color lenses are not partitioned to do what you think it should..

The outer solid red glows for parking and bright for brakes... 2 elements in one bulb. The backup light are single element.

My TC isn't that old.

I did upgrade with L.E.D. tail lights, and mounted them higher on the TC.
