When it was posted that the ford f150 used Aluminum, which also contained magnesium. I asked what percentage it would need be, for magnesium to cause flammability. I got a good answer from one poster....

The OMG, Don't let the truth blind you, was intended for the inconsiderate poster. Read my post on page 4. I mentioned magnesium to set the stage. My Complaint was with the attitude of some posters. Not just with this theme, not with just me.
There appears to be a clique playing a game. The place for that is around the campfire. As I said before I have been a member of this board for over 15 years. Before it even took on its appearance it has today. And really nothing has ever changed. Trying to get a good answer with out getting any grief is near impossible.
Around the campfire was supposed to control this cliqueness. But it has done no good.
As for your question. The people trapped in the car you ran into may be greatly concerned about your magnesium fire in your hydrogen powered car. Or maybe just your magnesium fire. (There are hydrogen powered cars on the road today).
In the Jeep the problem was with the magnesium skid plate. After a crash and engine compartment fire trash like leaves and oil that collected on the top of the skid plate would ignite the magnesium well before the interior Temps were life threatening. Jeep made a real because of poor design.
Also brave people save burning people from car fires all the time and they do survive.
