I get up on my TT frequently to check things. I try to walk on the rafters instead of between them. After a while you can see where they are. Until then you can use a foot to feel where the rafters run.

You can walk up there as much as you need to.

Some RVs have really thin roof decking, which will flex when you walk on them. A thin roof material will be easily noticeable when you get up there an start walking around.

What are the advertised specs of the roof decking thickness for your Keystone?

I never walk on the roof unless required…which is seldom. Dangerous. Most work can be done on a good ladder.

The roofs ARE NOT built to walk on. 3/8" plywood is used as sheathing. Just go up, do the work and get off the roof.

When recoating my TT roof with liquid rubber roof I wore soft soul sneakers (yacht sneakers) and when down on my knees to work on AC, etc. for extended periods I used a thin 4x4 or 5 light thin piece of plywood to distribute my weight and used extension ladder for access to roof. Never any problems or leaks using this method. I do not weigh a ton. Hard rubber mat would also distribute your weight I would think. Cheers

Also have a 2020 Outback and I'm on the roof quite often for inspection.
The roof is domed and flimsy between the rafters so I find it best to crawl as to distribute weight more evenly.
I also wear crocs and knee pads.

Actually it depends on your RV. "most" but not all, are designed to be walked on.. Especially the ones with a factory ladder.
If you are in doubt. Call the manufacturer of your camper. They will tell you in just a minute.

Not All RVs have plywood that thick.

If it does have plywood that thick, it's BUILT TO WALK ON.

A lot of RVs I have been researching specifically state "full walk on roof" in their literature.

Making a blanket statement saying "The roofs ARE NOT built to walk on" is totally incorrect.

Outdoors RV and Northwood build full walk on roofs with 3/8" plywood.
They advertise them as full walk on roofs.

I’m just wanting to get up there to wash and inspect. Probably will just barrow a tall step latter and stay off the roof .

I've been up on my Northwood MFG and ORV roofs so many times I couldn't tell you.
Not sure why the concern. Falling off has nothing to do with the roofs integrity.
