Ok this may be a stupid question. I know people have to be able to get on top to work on the a/ c units and what not, bu5 just how much walking around can/should be done up there? Btw we have a 2020 38’ Keystone Outback.

All my trailers (4) have had " walk on roofs....as long as you can walk on water. ??

Don't count on the ladder to mean it is OK.
My first new TT had a ladder....Yet the dealer and the manual both said not to walk on it.

I usually crawl around on mine on all fours. Spreads the force out a little more and makes me feel safer.

I am 80 years old and my Monaco is 20. I go up there and check for leaks, work on A/C, Refrigerator vent fans, antenna, everything. Just be careful.

I've been up on my Northwood MFG and ORV roofs so many times I couldn't tell you.
Not sure why the concern. Falling off has nothing to do with the roofs integrity.

I’m just wanting to get up there to wash and inspect. Probably will just barrow a tall step latter and stay off the roof .

Not All RVs have plywood that thick.

If it does have plywood that thick, it's BUILT TO WALK ON.

A lot of RVs I have been researching specifically state "full walk on roof" in their literature.

Making a blanket statement saying "The roofs ARE NOT built to walk on" is totally incorrect.

Also have a 2020 Outback and I'm on the roof quite often for inspection.
The roof is domed and flimsy between the rafters so I find it best to crawl as to distribute weight more evenly.
I also wear crocs and knee pads.

When recoating my TT roof with liquid rubber roof I wore soft soul sneakers (yacht sneakers) and when down on my knees to work on AC, etc. for extended periods I used a thin 4x4 or 5 light thin piece of plywood to distribute my weight and used extension ladder for access to roof. Never any problems or leaks using this method. I do not weigh a ton. Hard rubber mat would also distribute your weight I would think. Cheers

What are the advertised specs of the roof decking thickness for your Keystone?

I never walk on the roof unless required…which is seldom. Dangerous. Most work can be done on a good ladder.

I get up on my TT frequently to check things. I try to walk on the rafters instead of between them. After a while you can see where they are. Until then you can use a foot to feel where the rafters run.
