Opinions on Highland Ridge Roamer and Mesa Ridge TT

Currently we have a 2006 Forest River Grand Surveyor M280 and are looking to upgrade to a newer model. We are looking at the 2016 Highland Ridge (formerly Open Range prior to Jayco buying)

Looks wise it appears to be a well built TT with a great floor plan and lots of inside storage but looking to see if anyone has any opinions on this manuf/model, are looks deceiving?

Thanks for all opinions good or bad.

We have an Open Range Light (in my signature). Coming up on 2 years, and we still love it! In fact, although I work in the business I haven't seen any TT I like better! No problems, and we use ours extensively.

I have had a Forest River trailer and we currently have the Open Range in my signature. The Open Range is far superior in build quality to my Forest River. We have had it over two years (it has a two year warranty) and pulled it many thousands of miles with very few problems. In fact, the only problem I had while under warranty was the propane regulator was bad and they replaced it. I have had a cabinet start to come loose but easily fixed it myself. I have been to two Open Range owner's rallies and most owners seem happy with their units. I did replace all the tires after about a year because as far as I can tell, all the manufacturers provide junk tires. We love our Open Range.

I've never owned one but the brand has always caught my eye while internet shopping. I've read a lot of good comments on the net from owners. I also got to walk through a couple at an RV show last weekend and was VERY impressed. The quality and overall finish seems to be very high. I'd definitely consider them a step above the standard Forest River/Jayco/Keystone brands.

We have had a 2012 Open Range Roamer since June of 2011 with the only problem being a plugged air conditioner drain from tree debris. We are very satisfied with the fit and finish and quality. We have a triple slide tt which gives us lots of room and comfort.
