He’s buying a brand new truck and the dealer and salesman are not getting a dime.
I have always bought my trucks at invoice. The dealers get other monies when they sell a vehicle. the difference between invoice and sticker isn't really all that much.Plus there is no salesmen involved and no flooring on a special ordered vehicle.

What was the premium over MSRP? How long are they quoting for delivery?
Invoice! Dealer didn't know how long but ordered Monday and messaged Chevrolet Thursday and they said it's heading for production. It's the fifth truck I'm buying from my dealer and they take care of me.
I hope they take care of you as you have no problem right now finding examples such as below and these clowns will not negotiate one dime. Ordered Monday you may see it in 6 months. It may be heading for production but it could be headed there for months, Headed for is not production. I was quoted 6-8 months on a GMC 3500 last week. GM is planning on shutting down plants again. But good luck with it.
That's $12K+ above sticker folks, and no negotiations, they'll laugh at you.

Congrats on the new truck! I didn't know a lot about this setup, but after reading specs on 3.0, and reviews, I was impressed.
HP 277/TQ 460 and up to 30 mpg empty
Seems you got a great price too! 🙂

If the payload and tow rating are good, should be a nice option, particularly if non-towing is the bulk of miles.
I would be curious of the price difference for your 3 options.

And 3.73s! That thing will pull hard!
Do they even offer 3.73 anymore with the gas engines?

Curious how that price compares to a similarly loaded 2500 diesel.
I'm not positive if still true, diesel and 6.2 gas were ea MSRP about $1000 option. So for a 7-10k trailer, a better option than a 2500 if you keep you payload need under 2000-2200 lbs max. With that said, I've had 3500 in the bed of my truck hauling gravel and a pallet of wall block, handle worst than a 2500. But put a 2nd pallet in a 2500, both are about the same!
I've pulled 8500 with no handling issues either. My max generally speaking for any truck is 2-2.5x RA capacity.
