I has a 45 minute long BS session at a GMC dealer last night discussing ordering a GMC 3500HD gas with the general manager. The story remains the same as it has been since the previous discussions I've had there over the last 6 weeks or longer. GM will not give dealers any production or delivery dates.
The dealer has people who put down deposits in November or earlier and have yet to receive their ordered vehicles. When vehicles do arrive they may or may not have the ordered options or they may come in with inoperative options such as heated seats. You get the switches for the option, but the electronic module to control them is MIA.
They had an ordered Denali Yukon XL arrive, almost $100K on the sticker. No heated seats, no heated steering wheel, inoperative trailer brake control, inoperative adaptive air ride suspension, and no remote start. GM credited back @ $550 for the above with the option for the buyer to return at some point to have the missing components installed if and when they are available, and thats an assumption on the dealers part as they apparently have no official directive from GM on that scenario. Crazy times.
Personally I'm about 99% over into the forget about a new truck for now column. I'll just hold onto the paid for 6 year old 2500 with 55K on the ticker. I wish the OP luck on his deal.
As a side note a coworker received a Ford F250 with Tremor package he ordered. It only took 7 months to arrive. The bright side was all ordered options were installed and actually worked, and he was out the door a few thousand below sticker which is almost unheard of right now. Cash deal no trade.
