Ordering my new Arctic Fox..option questions

I can't help with the ordering through Northwood. However I have owned several RV's and would caution you to think about resale down the road. Things that might not be important to you are important to a potential buyer when you go to trade or sell. For example no air conditioning would be a deal breaker for me. Just a thought as I have run into problems before.

You never camp in Eastern Oregon during the summer? AC for resale value is well worth the cost. TV is the same.

I hear ya. I can add it down the road for $600, but I understand what your saying. They come AC ready, so easy to add. It’s not hurting my trade in so I don’t want to pay over $4500 for AC and genset that will never be used ever.

Not sure you need the folding grab handle. It appears the 992 has a ladder in the same place as the 990. With the Fox Landing you enter and egress right by the ladder which makes a great grab handle for getting up or down. We use it for that purpose all the time.

If its being made "solar ready" (not the panels, but the actual wire) find out what size of wire they are putting in. You might want a larger wire size and easy to do when making, lot harder once you get it home.

My custom ordered 811 had the following options back in 2012 even though some of these you have already discounted, at least it will give you idea of the route we went:

Oven delete for more under cook top storage
3-way fridge
2-way hot water heater
Convection/microwave
Full cab over wardrobe
Standard AM/FM/CD head unit with interior and exterior speakers

Ours was prewired for TV and solar and I installed a 22" LCD/DVD combination but never got to a solar install. TV audio was routed to the Aux radio input to make sound better when the AC or generator were running. Wire multiple solar panels in series with a MPPT controller so you can use the stock prewire instead of having to snake new runs.

Your order should be 2019 model at 2018 prices.

Good advice. We had a AF1150 and we ended up running the solar wires down through a cabinet on drivers side, through the kitchen and down to battery box. If AF will upsize the wiring from roof to battery box I would go for that but you need to know where the wires are going to accept mounting a solar charge controller. We ended up with this install. A pretty basic renogy MPPT. To get to the battery compartment required lots of drilling of roof, walls etc...

No A/C?? I can't imagine. You never go anywhere that it's over 80F?

Right. Generally I camp from February to November. We fish so the coast is usually always 50-75 degrees. Lakes are cool in the evening that the fantastic fans do a fine job. I’m a mountain kind of guy so yeah, generally camping in cooler weather.
