From what I have read, you can either build a platform out of 2x4's, 2x6's to raise it up. Another option is using rigid insulation. The roof clearance issue is talking about the cabover clearing the roof of your truck.

No you shouldn't need anything.

I have had TCs on NBS Chevys (up to 2007) and NNBS Chevys (2007.5 through 2013). None of them needed anything to clear the bed rails.

On our current combo '12 Chevy 2500 and '13 Eagle Cap 850 has about an inch clearance between the camper wings and the top of the bed rails.

I'm all for being prepared, so just to be sure, ask the seller to measure the height of the short wall under the wing, and a measurement from the bottom of the camper to the underside of the cabover for you. Compare that to the depth of your truck bed. If he wants his money he will be more than happy to do this.

Map out the closest big box or lumber yard just in case you need to run out quick and pick up a stack of 2x4's for the trip home. You can build something permanent later if necessary.

Unless someone with the same vintage camper and truck chimes in, you're going to have to measure to be sure. Northstar added some strips of plywood to the framing on the underside of my camper to clear the bed rails. You may get away with just throwing down a heavy rubber bed mat, which is a good idea anyway to minimize camper motion in the bed.

PS: One other measurement you should get is the width of the camper as it goes through the tailgate opening. GM narrowed the tailgate a few years back.

Also make sure the TC has dually extension brackets on the front jacks if you are loading into a dually.

Well, I think I am ready to pick it up on Thursday. I put a 7 pin plug inside the driver side bed, added plywood and rubber mats to match the height of my 5th wheel hitch rails. That brings the height on top of mats to side rails at 20", just what the previous owner has on his Ford. My cab isn't as tall so I will have roof clearance.
I installed Torklifts on the front and Happijac bumper mounts on the back. I bought 5' of chain to get the turnbuckles to fit, and 4 screw links to attach with.
I also took off the tailgate. The camper has swing out brackets on the front so the dually won't hit and the owner said it has bumpers on the front so no need for a 2x4 as a spacer.
Is there anything else I need immediately, or "must haves" for the future?

You still might need the 2 X 4 spacer.

Despite having the rubber bumper in front, our SnowRiver was just right up against the tail lights, so the high tech 2 X 4 spacer was added.

The bumpers on the front of my AF camper sit in he exact spot where the truck bed angles back on the front wall, so I need to use a spacer up front for my 2009 CHevy. I'd take a 2x4 just in case.

The rubber bumpers on mine sit slightly below where the top of the bed angles into the bed a bit but still need a spacer there. Plan on a 2-3" spacer in front. IMO.

Thanks for your replies. I made a custom 2x4 a little wider than the top indent of my bed. Will see how it works tomorrow.
