Qualified, No for using a standard residential receptacle. You would have to look at the one you have. Many RVs us a self-contain receptacle that does not utilize a box. Yes you can install a shallow box and a residential receptacle. picture of self contained
I would not condemn the receptacle. Remove it from the wall, if it is self contained, make sure the rear clamp/back is pushed and secure. This back pushes the conductors against sharp pins that make the connection.
It may not be this receptacle. It could be the one between this one and the AC panel.
