Some RV's have microwave and fireplace on the same circuit. The two cannot be run at the same time, so, there is a switch (like a light switch) in the circuit that allows one or the other to receive power. With switch in one position, microwave works and fireplace does not. With switch in other position, fireplace works and microwave does not. Maybe this is the situation here.
