I agree with the "hole" perspective, once there in the side of my camper it is permanant, but out of the way, and does not need to be taken out or stored anywhere. I carry kayaks and all kinds of junk up top, but i could possibly mount the speakers in the wings? I ll have to check, but i may lean towards just running wires long and then putting the speakers whereever i want. just put them in a box, or get the sealed ones, with simple plug ins to connect them. But so far no one knows if there are some type of backings? Ill just check with lance and post up what i find out.

Sleepy is welcome at my camp anytime. I like his thoughts and character that go so well. In my opinion outside speakers are for campain speeches and that's it...... That's how this question gets answered. Anyone asking anything around here better be ready for the roll or get your butter somewhere else.:B:B:B

I won't be there... thats why I boondock all of the time... to avoid the few that make a nusence of themselves.

This thread will probably be my first and my last statement... I'll gaurentee that I won't be there to witness or hear it.

I don't see a name on mine. Call Bob at Outfitter I'm sure he tell you what they use. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

My Apex 8 came with outside speaker and they are great. I only boondock and can't even see another camper. If I were in a CG I wouldn't have them on. I think there is a time and place for most everything. I don't see the problem if people are considerent. I'll check mine a get back to you on the brand. By the way I'm asleep a midnight mine won't be on then.

Okay, so I am a bit late replying to this thread. Sorry...

Regarding hooking up speakers in a Lance 1030... My '03 Lance 1030 came 'stereo ready' but without an actual stereo. That means the wires & speakers were all installed. When I added a head unit, I noticed some of the speakers sounded funny. Sure enough, the polarity was reversed on several of the speakers. This included the wiring going to the outside speaker jacks.

You don't need a box for the majority of speakers because MOST are free air speakers.

That is correct. Polypropylene diaphragms with relatively stout speaker grills. Very unlikely you will puncture them. If you do you'll likely have to check your siding for damage also.
