Painting interior??

Pinterest is gonna be the end of me! After going to an RV show and seeing a trailer with a light interior the wife got on Pinterest, and now she wants to paint the interior walls and cabinets.

What type of prep do you have to do to the walls? Its that standard RV wall covering stuff.

What about the cabinets?? Do you have to use like a deglosser chemical on them?

I’m not really looking forward to doing it, but I did like the lighter interior.

I have painted most of the interior of my trailer, we love it.
I washed the walls with soap and water to make sure there were no greasy/dirty places.
I did not use a primer, the real high quality paints have incredible sticking power.
Number one advice! Use the best, premier brand paint you can buy. I used Sherwin Williams their highest grade. It was about 50.00 per gallon retail. Don't skimp on paint quality. You will be sorry.
If you are going to all the work to prep and paint buy the best paint.

Thanks, on home projects I always either use top of the line Behr, or Sherwin Williams, and Purdy brushes and rollers.

The finished product really depends on how picky you are and how much time you are willing to put in for the prep.
All shiny surfaces should be deglossed, either chemically or with sandpaper.
Then you have to decide on the type of finish, latex or oil, and method of application..
Pictures on pininterest will not really show the quality of the finished product.
Good luck.
