Our 5er has the open bath in the bedroom and works great for us. BUT. Modesty has never been an issue for us. And we never have overnight guest except maybe younger grandkids and closing the bedroom door solves that. Pros: really opens up the bedroom area rather than bedroom feeling like a closet, toilet being in separate room allows private use of that while other person is showering, brushing teeth, etc. Cons: privacy issue.
Sometimes I have a hard time with how others view issues, and the pass through bath being one.
I guess we have have had two, the first was in our 86 King of the Road, had doors on both sides to be a separate room. Only the Master bedroom beyond, never saw a privacy issue with this as the toilet had a door on both sides, so if we had a guest they could close the door to the bedroom. This would really only be at night.
The current is what I refer to as a Master Suite, bed on slide-out, shower in corner and toilet across in a closet for lack of a better term. It came with an accordion wall between bed area and shower area which was clunky. DW replaced with a room darkening two panel curtain which is easier close and easier to exit.
Toilet is separate, and curtains keep light out of bed area if used by guest. Shower time, the whole forward area is available to the one showering.
This is the floor plan of the 1986 King of the Road, very nice older unit.
This is the 2005 Copper Canyon, we love this layout.
