Picking up new camper tomorrow!

I am so very excited! We purchased our new camper in November and let the dealer store it for the winter. Tomorrow, bright and early, we go for the walk-through and then get to bring it home! Less than two weeks until our first trip with it!

I can hardly wait to get everything loaded in it. I will probably sleep in it one night next weekend to make sure I haven't forgotten anything important!

We added "shelves" to our wardrobes by getting the things meant for shoes - they velcro over the top of the rod. We cut the extra pockets off the bottom and we're good.

For toilet paper we found a free-standing one that stores about 3 rolls below the one in use. On the road it lives inside the vanity.

We're also users of Murphy's Oil Soap on the wood surfaces, absolutely no issues.

Congrats on the new TT!

I have pics and I'll attempt to attach one. We are about an hour from Lake George but prefer less commercial campgrounds. We are going to Promised Land State Park in northeastern PA. We went last year in our pop-up and loved it there.

Hubby put in one shelf today and it looks great! He's a perfectionist so it takes him time to figure out the perfect solution.

Oddist thing I noticed once we got it home was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom. Guess I'll put it on the small open shelf next to the toilet for now.

Attaching photo didn't work...I'll research how to do it and try tomorrow.

Congratulations! Sounds like we're in the same boat. I just picked up our KZ 16RBT today. Managed to get it home in one piece, and back it up hill in our small, steep driveway! We need to find a flatter place to part this thing! We are going to do a dry run next weekend (probably in my in law's driveway at their lake house), then camp for real over Mem. Day weekend. So far, I have purchased the sewer hose, potable water hose and pressure reducer, and the electrical 50 to 30 and 30 to 15A adapters. We also picked up a foam mattress topper and sheets, a sink strainer and washtub, two folding chairs, a grill, a "carpet" for outdoors, and some other small odds and ends. I am sure there will be a long list of things that end up getting packed in the trailer soon!

Thanks for all the great ideas! We opened up every window, vent etc. I removed the plastic from the mattress, etc. Hubby said maybe I should wipe down all the wood cabinets with Murphy's Oil Soap to help make it smell better. Does Murphy's work on TT cabinets? I doubt it is real wood so not sure.

It sure is fun to start loading it up and figuring out where everything is going. One small issue for us is that the cabinets are either very deep or very shallow and very tall so if you put something on the bottom of the cabinet, two-third of the space is unused. Hubby said he may be able to work out some additional shelving to put in the cabinets.

Can't wait to take it out!!!

Congrats!!

I use Murphy's everywhere in our tt,cabinets, floors and even on our TPO roof as recommended by manufacturer. Love that smell!

Congratulations.

There may be a few minor issues with a brand new TT. Sleeping in it in your yard for a night or two is a good idea to get the bugs worked out. Don't let any you find get you down it's all part of the experience.

Have Fun!

One suggestion: If it's brand new, you might want to open the windows and let it air out some. We did the same thing as you. Did the walk through, and went straight to a nearby campground. That was one great experience, but, the dang thing nearly gassed us to death that first night. Yours may not be as bad since it has sat at the dealership for awhile. I picked mine up when it was only about 7 days out of the factory. Good luck, have a great time!

Thanks for all the congrats and great suggestions. I have a list from when we camped in our pop-up and have been adding to it since Nov.

I added a page of new things for this camper and hope we've got most things listed. New things will be small dish drainer, outdoor carpet, a mounted paper towel holder etc.

Only 13 days until our first trip!

Congrats! If you haven't tried Evernote, its a great app for packing lists. Evernote has a free or paid version.

Best part is wife and I can add to and check off the packing list and the other sees the updates. We just log into the same account. With the paid version, you can share with others. I have packing lists based on the type trip: national park, day trip, weekend trip, beach, etc.

Very exciting! Be sure to camp near civilization the first time because you will invariably forget something important. Also, take along a pad of paper and a pen to write down items you want to include the next trip. You'll forget if you don't write them down right away.

that's what we did and I transferred them to a excel spreadsheet and now we have our "what we need to pack" list always !
