pickup bed covers

I just bought a GMC 3500 standard bed truck and am looking at buying a cover for the bed. I have a 5th wheel hitch and plan on getting a diesel fuel in bed fuel tank. I see that there are some that have 3 folds and some that folds 4 times. I am looking at one that will open at the front so I can fill the fuel tank. I need one that will work when I am towing my 5th wheel and need to fill the inbed fuel tank.......Any first hand experience would be greatly appreciated. Salesmen are quick to say theirs will do that. But they have never actually done it....

TCUSA Expensive but awesome.
Use it with the Transfer Flow tank designed for bed covers

Check out the Bal Flip brand also. They have a roll up that rolls up on top of the rails without a can. I believe they would work with an in bed tank.

I have the Extang Tri-Fecta tri fold cover on my long bed. I leave it on all the time and have no clearance trouble with it and the hitch. I would recommend a quad fold. That way you can open up the front and get to the fuel tank while the rest is still covered. It will fold up 3 times to clear the hitch of all 4 times and lays up against the back window. Good Luck and Happy Camping.

I had a roll n lock on my other truck and would never own another....the small oak leaves that we have here kept cloging the drain holes and water would stay in the container.....

I have had an ADVANCE COVER, made in Wyoming,Michigan, for the last 5 years.
they do not have any retail sellers. Google ADVANCE COVERS. You can order directly from the factory. I have been totally happy with them.

Don't know of any that will do that. Probably a roll-up can stay on the truck in the rolled up position, when towing your 5'r. But none can be covering the bed, while towing the 5'r. Nor can it be opened at the front to fill the aux. tank.

The other thing about a roll up is that some need a rail system inside the bed rails. These can get in the way of the rear edge of the pinbox when making a turn. That can tear things up.

So what I went for is a tri-fold. I simply remove it when towing and store it in the trailer. When I unhitch the trailer, I take the cover out of the trailer and in 2 minutes it's installed on the truck. This works well for my needs.

The tri-folds have no inner bed rail frame to worry about.

Is the tank all below the rail? I don't recall seeing one that way before. Everything must be below the rail to use a cover. We have a Ford OEM roll up and it works well, but I'd get a hard folding one if I was doing it now.
