Sounds like the Takata air bag fiasco....
I have a bit of bump steer in my Ford F350 but I lifted it 6" so I expected it. I just added twin steering damper shocks to the tie rod.
Not anywhere near that scale, only affected some of the early 16s supposedly. Its like anything else when they come out with something, in this case the digital assist, the early buyer sometimes ends up being the test subject. On my 15 I had a little play, some bushing was replaced. The dealers people were morons and screwed up the alignment afterwards. They could not align a tricycle. No digital assist on the 15 though.
The TSB is/was #PIT5501D for the 16 steering gear play.......there may be a newer one. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIISounds like the Takata air bag fiasco....

Ya I took to dealer he said there was no issues with the steering as far as recalll or people having problems. But the did a quick fix and reprogram. Sounds like I will be having more issue as there seems to be a few people with this problem
Hack hack hack cough cough Boosheet
Expect em to fight it just like Ford or Dodge or anyone else would. Its a $450 part list and a 3 hour labor job plus alignment. - diver57ExplorerYa I took to dealer he said there was no issues with the steering as far as recalll or people having problems. - AnEv942NomadNo but its not an uncommon problem on the 2016 Chevy/GMC 2500-3500 HDs,
Id be taking it to a dealer. - Ralph_CramdenExplorer IIThere is a TSB on the steering gear on the 16 HDs with the digital assist steering. First they'll attempt to tighten or adjust the gear, ultimatly theyll replace the steering gear so try and get the dealer to cut to the chase and replace the gear. They may or may not do that. Its a known issue that affects trucks built in a certain time period. There is also a TSB for a bushing on the 15s and 16s.
- donn0128Explorer IITime to take it to an alignment shop and have them look at it.
- LwiddisExplorer IIA prompt inspection was the right move.
