Pre wire

I'm wondering what it means when they say a trailer comes pre wired for TV....does it mean no antenna?
  • It could mean prewired for cable TV or over the air TV.

It could mean "prewired" but no TV antenna is included. Some cheap, low end brands don't include an OAT (over the air) antenna on the roof.
  • Manufacturers are getting away from including TVs. Generally they are no different from a household TV and the manufacturer doesn't want to deal with warranty issues. Flatscreen TVs are dirt cheap anyway.

Prewired likely means there is a connection to the antenna/cable and power near the TV location. On ours, there is also a connection to the stereo system so we can runs sound thru it.

If you really want to know for sure, call up the dealer and check.
  • No TV included but has antenna/cable wiring?

Would be an "upgrade" to having a RV with NO TV built in, they are typically junk anyways. Much better quality TVs to choose from that do not have a RV brand attached to it.

Call a dealer with the model of the RV you are looking at to get clarification..
  • Look at the manufacturer’s website for the model which interests you. Could mean anything. There is no standard.
