problem with fresh water fill

When filling my fresh water tank it gets 1/3 full then starts coming out the filler connection. Thought maybe already had water in it so I drained it and tried to fill again. Fresh water tank was empty. Once again at 1/3 full started pouring out the filler area again. Any ideas?

I had the same problem when I first got my Laredo 324L.. when my fresh water fill got about 1/3rd full, it starting backing up through the fresh water inlet. I tried everything I could think of to fix the problem with no success.. then I remembered that the trip before, I filled my tank all the way up.. and the only difference was that the trip before I filled up the tank when the slideout that was on the same side as the fresh water inlet was in. So I put the side in and it filled the entire tank.. So I tested it and when the side is in, I can fill it all the way.. when its out I cannot. I know I haven't solved the problem, but its a workaround that works for me and it keeps my camper out of the shop and in the campground.

I also think this may be the problem.

If you have a large straw, or short piece of hose, hold it tightly against the vent hole by the water fill, and blow into it, forcing the water in vent line, back into the tank.

With the vent clear, you should be able to fill tank.

Can you blow back with air compressor (on low pressure) or even mouth to see if the over flow/vent is clear

What brand and model of trailer do you have?
Some Jayco/Starcrafts are known to have this problem. Some have overflow tubes that serve as a vent and the vent tube is not even connected at the factory. If the overflow tube gets pinched, the same problem as yours occurs.

It has an enclosed belly so can't do that. First time this has happened. Would I run a flexible wire down the vent tube to see if its clogged?

There may be a plugged vent.. mine's right next to the fill hole.
