Problem with my Superduty.

2011 Ford F-350 dually. 67k miles bought new. When I get in truck and go somewhere the "service engine indicator " is on. And stays on. Next time stays off. Dealership says fault code P204B Ran point test suspect Def pump. Pump test Ok. They suggested replacement of pump, 1200 bucks. But they aren't positive that is the problem.

Anyone else had anything similar?

I had a check engine light come on on my 2011, I can't remember the code but it was for the DEF tank heating element. I wired in a resister to mimic the blown heating element and it caused the check engine light to come on intermittently (I guess the resistance wasn't quite right). I ended up purchasing an entire DEF system from someone who deleted his new F450. The F450 has a different part number for the def tank but the only difference in the part was that the sensor for the low def indicator sensed a slightly higher level on the F450. Anyway it cost me $300 for the parts and I did the labor myself.

Doesn't seem to be using any more Def than normal. Truck runs like it always has. Service engine lite once on stays on till I shut engine off. Restart sometime it's on and sometimes not.

Is it using def at the same rate it normally does?
When you clear the code, how long before it throws the code again?
Help see if it's a sporatic issue w the pump presuming that's what the code is for like you said.
Find a shop that knows what they're doing. Sounds like your dealer techs are parts throwers.

All else fails, if the reaper cost gets anywhere near what it cost to delete it, delete that sucker and enjoy a healthier truck. (If you're not in an emissions area)

Early 6.7L Fords had a lot of lift pump issues also.

Thought emissions components were 5/100?
