MB, I'm not brand loyal and don't feel the same about Ford as you do about Nissan but the arrogance of some of they're owners is enough for me not to be associated with the name.

My experience with Nissan is that they DO NOT stand behind their product. I had a problem with an Altima involving motor mounts going bad. I had 2 dealers tell me that it was covered by warranty. Corporate Nissan said it wasn't covered. They then spent 3 months dodging my phone calls. I would leave them numbers and times at which to reach me. Typically they would leave a message at home during even though I had given them a number and time period to reach me at work. This happened multiple times.
Contrast this with my experience with Ford. My Explorer has unfortunately had more problems than I would ideally expect. Ford has been fantastic about standing behind their product! Kudos to Tom Peck Ford in Huntley, IL. So on one hand you have a company who works hard to satisfy their customers. On the other you have you have Nissan, who worked hard at not standing behind their warranty.
I will admit to ignorance in that I bought a Nissan. I guarantee that I will never repeat that mistake. I'll also retract the comment about using a Nissan to create an artificial reef. That's a crappy thing to do to a fish.

But you have to wonder how much of this power is getting to the ground, and for how long, and when. Look at the recent dyno pulls TFL did and the delta between the GM and the other two. With torque management it is difficult to tell unless someone did an actual study. There is a test result I'd like to read, hear that TFL?

We have come a long ways when you look at the specs and see 800 lb/ft of torque, and it is a 100 lb/ft deficit to its main competitors.

These are the good ole days.

I think that is because each is best in their own way and what may be important to one may not be important to another. Some may like to have the quickest truck and not mind sacrificing fuel economy for it. there are those that may feel that fuel mileage is more important over performance just as long as the truck can tow what they need it to at the rated speed limit. Others may want dependability above all else.

Each of these truck are close yet very unique in small ways. The GM is the sportiest of the trucks, the Ram is the truckiest of the trucks while the Ford is somewhere in between with a smooth ride. Then there are those that just buy based on brand and it doesn't matter what the other truck have because their brand is always the best. I try not to talk with these kind of people because logic and rational thought usually go out the window in those conversations.
