Question for Rockwood owners

Greetings all, new member!

We bought a 2016 Mini-Lite 2306 a month ago and so far, everything is going good. Made note of a few issues that will get addressed at season's end, but otherwise all is well.

One thing that puzzles me, has to do with the power cord.
These Trailers don't have the usual stiff cord, coiled up under a cabinet, but instead has a MALE twist-lock receptacle on the outer wall. The power cord has a standard 30A plug on one end, and the FEMALE twist lock on the other.
Now...when I plug the MALE end into "shore power", there is a small blue LED built into the cord, that is illuminated to show that there is indeed power available. At the trailer, there is a small flip-up door that serves as a weatherproof cover for the receptacle, and this door has another blue LED built into it.
The problem is...the LED on the door doesn't always light up when connected. Now, I am an electrician by trade, so I know to verify power at both ends...yada, yada... We've been at campgrounds where the LED is lit, and shortly after, it isn't. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when/why or how this light comes on.
It's not a huge inconvenience to me whether the LED comes on or not....I can tell the power is on when I turn on the A/C.
Still, if it's SUPPOSE to, I guess it's another item for the Warranty list at the end of the season.
I've even tried running the batteries down a bit, thinking this light might only come on when the unit is charging the batteries...but that didn't pan out as a logical solution. Owner's manual offered nothing.

So...does anybody know what this blue LED on the flip-up door is for? Should it be lit whenever connected to shore power?
Does it only come on for special occasions?
