Because what I said above. Greater value typically. I’ve run through a lot of tires and heavier duty tires last longer proportionally than the increase in purchase price.
Also means you’re driving on the “top half” of the tread longer. You know the good part where you get better traction.
And generally increased puncture and damage resistance. Or less value on a total pavement princess truck, but a lot of folks do truck stuff with their trucks.
Size I wanted ONLY comes in one load range! IF I could have bought an XL, I would have! SOmething for ALL to think about when buying things like tires.
I'll probably go down to a 275-65 as they are lighter in weight and come in an XL. Lost over 3mpg with the heavier tires.
